POP’N’TRAD

ALLIGATOR

TRAM celebrates its 25th anniversary with a new repertoire.

TRAM is a collection of original creations, 6 albums, and over 1200 concerts. The five musicians-singers continue to carve their unique path, characterized by a carefree appropriation of various musical traditions: Central Europe, klezmer music, as well as Nordic folk and Réunionese polyrhythms.

After En cavale, an acoustic creation focused more on traditional music, the band returns to composition and the pop’n’trad energy. However, TRAM fully benefits from the encounter with Mélissa Zantman, celebrating humanity, organicity, and shared resonance through song, gaze, and complicity.

The unity is guaranteed by the immense bond between the band members, their joyful curiosity. The pop’n’trad energy from the early days remains intact, sometimes even giving way to a welcome rock touch. Voice and breath in all their forms remain at the heart of the project. The languages of the world blend more than ever, with French making a prominent appearance, and even a bit of German! The singing is enriched, with all the musicians participating in the polyphonies.

On the instrumental side, the program remains acoustic: violin, clarinet, accordion, mandolin… with a bass/drums rhythm section that knows how to push everyone to their limits.

TRAM is made up of five sentimental guys who don’t like mediocrity. They wear the serene smile of those who have traveled a lot, and the appetite of those who know there’s still so much to discover.

You’re not serious when you’re 25 : beware of the alligators.

PRESS REVIEW

« Their music is inspired by Eastern Europe music, with undeniable musical originality, openness
for all styles and genres (jazz, pop, throat singing, rock…) that we cannot clearly perceive as they are
fully assimilated and repossessed. It is strong, it has taste, it swings and coos with humour,
cheekiness, nostalgia»
C.R. TRAD MAG.

« the five musicians get up on stage like on a boxing ring, the eye of the tiger, crooked claws and
perfect footwork. It is sweet, spicy, and strange, there are words sounding and airy layers reveal
themselves throughout the tasting session. The performance is to be seen as well as heard. »
La Montagne

« (…) TRAM acknowledges us to close this boisterous and eery show. A strange feeling, a taste of
happiness and proud joy to have been welcomed to share a great moment. » Zikannuaire.com.
« 3 loony singers and eloquent musicians in an explosive and contaminating harmony. »
« A great contact with the audience and just enough emotion, humour and heat to lift the spirits to an
army of depressed.»
S. Denis, Le Scarabée

« TRAM makes voices vibrate and languages clash. It is throaty, powerful, impressive. Emotions
are tangible as music becomes flesh! The band’s original compositions bounce back with a
recapture of so many different musical styles and bring an “undeniable originality” to the scenery»
